What Your Click Speed Really Measures
Your click speed — measured in CPS (clicks per second) — is a surprisingly accurate window into your hand-eye coordination and fine motor control. This click speed test runs for exactly 10 seconds, long enough to see your sustained rate rather than a lucky burst. When you click, the signal travels from your brain's motor cortex, down through your arm, wrist, and finger muscles, and back through the mechanical actuation of the mouse button. The highest-performing individuals maintain a rhythm — clicking feels almost automatic after a few seconds, which is why many people improve noticeably on their second or third attempt.
